BTS’s Oldest Member Jin Completes Military Service, Greeted by Bandmates

Jin, the oldest member of the world-famous K-pop group BTS, has successfully finished his mandatory 18-month military service in South Korea. This makes him the first member of BTS to complete this national duty.

In South Korea, all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 35 are required by law to serve in the military for a period ranging from 18 to 21 months, depending on the service branch. Jin began his service in December 2022 and has now completed his training and duties.

The discharge ceremony for Jin was a heartfelt event. Videos from the ceremony show Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, wiping away tears as he prepared to leave the military camp. The moment was emotional not only for Jin but also for his fans who eagerly awaited his return.

All the members of BTS, except for Suga, attended the ceremony to welcome Jin back. In a touching gesture, RM, the leader of BTS, greeted Jin with flowers and even played their hit song "Dynamite" on the saxophone. Jin also reunited with J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook during the ceremony. Suga, who could not be present, planned to meet Jin later in the day.

Jin’s completion of his military service comes just in time for BTS’s anniversary. The group, which debuted on June 13, 2013, is celebrating its 11th year. Jin will be joining fans for the celebration.

BigHit Music, the agency managing BTS, announced a special event where Jin will meet some lucky fans. During this event, he will engage in meet and greets and even give out hugs. The fan meet will happen in two batches, with one session being streamed on Weverse for a fee.

Jin’s return marks a significant moment for BTS and their fans as they celebrate their 11th anniversary together.
