Javed Khan Amrohi death: Veteran actor from 'Lagaan' passes away

Javed Khan Amrohi death news: Actor Javed Khan Amrohi, a veteran of both stage and screen, passed away on Tuesday at a hospital in Mumbai from lung failure, as per director Ramesh Talwar. He was best known for his performances in the well-liked DD series Nukkad and movies like Lagaan and Chak De! India.

Javed Khan Amrohi passed away on February 14. The news was confirmed, and Akhilendra Mishra spoke candidly about his friendship with him. Additionally, he disclosed that Javed hadn't been well lately.

The seasoned performer had been incapacitated for the previous year due to a breathing condition. In Talwar, a suburb of Mumbai, he was receiving medical care at Surya Nursing Home.

At 7.30 p.m., the Oshiwara Kabristan would hold the actor's funeral rites, he continued.

Amrohi began his career in theatre after receiving his degree from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), and he went on to feature in a number of important parts in over 150 movies and almost a dozen TV programmes.

He is best known for his roles as the barber Karim in the television series Nukkad from the late 1980s, as Anand Akela, one of the potential suitors for Raveena Tandon's character in Andaz Apna Apna, as the cricket commentator in Lagaan, and as a member of the Indian Women's Hockey team in Chak De! India.
