Kargil Vijay Diwas: India is celebrating the 23rd anniversary of the Kargil victory over Pakistan. The Kargil War, commonly known as the Kargil conflict, officially ended on this date in 1999 when Indian troops successfully reclaimed mountain heights that had been taken by Pakistani intruders.
There have been several Bollywood films made to honor the victory of our real heroes. Here are some of the films that you must watch at least once.
LOC: Kargil
JP Dutta's famous historical war film depicted the events of the successful "Operation Vijay" carried out by the Indian Army. It has a large ensemble cast that includes actors like Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherji, Raveena Tandon, Esha Deo, etc. Soldiers at Kargil were documented in the movie along with their battles against Pakistan.
Lakshya
The storyline of Lakshya, a movie starring Hrithik Roshan, revolves around the life of a young soldier preparing for the Kargil War. Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan are the film's lead actors, and Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Boman Irani, and Om Puri also play significant roles. The film is directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Shershaah
Shershaah highlighted the unsung tale of Captain Vikram Batra, who sacrificed his own life in 1999 after recapturing point 4875 in Kargil from Pakistani forces. The Vishnuvardhan-directed film also provides a glimpse into the captain's personal life and his relationship with Dimple Cheema. Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra play the leading parts.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl tells the story of the Indian Air Force pilot who served in the Kargil War and was the nation's first female combat pilot. Janhvi Kapoor, Angad Bedi, and Pankaj Tripathi all play significant roles in the Sharan Sharma-directed movie.
