Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's name, image, voice and personality become inoperative without permission

The Delhi High Court passed an interim direction stating that Amitabh Bachchan's  photo, voice and name cannot be used without permission. This happened when Amitabh Bachchan moved the Delhi High Court seeking to protect his image , voice and personality by preventing people at large scale from violating his personality and publicity rights. Now, no person can use his name or voice without permission .

The court has also directed the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and telecom service providers to remove flagged content . Justice Navin Chawla passed this order which every individual has to abide by . Justice noted that the defendants were using the actor's celebrity status to promote their own businesses without his consent. 

Representing Bachchan's top lawyer Harish Salve stated that there are tshirts and posters with the actor's face on them and someone has also registered a website domain called 'amitabhbachchan.com. The actor's petition said his name , image and voice were being used by app developers to illegally conduct lotteries . His lawyer further stated that there was also an 'Amitabh Bachchan Video Call App ,' where the caller could speak to a person who sounded like Bachchan.' The description of the mobile facility which was named Amitabh Bachchan Video call app is available for download on mobile phones and states that Amitabh Bachchan is a fake video call app and can also do voice chatting that too a prank one. The megastar has also sought a restraining order against book publishers, T-shirt vendors and various other such  businesses.
