Megastar Rajinikanth admitted to Kauvery Hospital, Chennai

On October 28, actor Rajinikanth was admitted to Kauvery Hospital. According to hospital sources, he is stable.

A source close to the actor reported that, he was at the hospital for a routine checkup and it was unclear whether he would be staying overnight.

On October 29, the hospital is expected to issue a bulletin.

Meanwhile, as per other sources, Rajinikanth is suffering from infarction, which is tissue death (necrosis) caused by insufficient blood supply to the affected area. It could be due to artery blockages or rupture.

"It is a routine health check-up done on a periodic basis," the actor's publicist Riaz K Ahmed explained. He is now being examined in a private hospital ".

However, any official confirmation from the hospital is yet to be issued.

Talking about the work front, the megastar was awarded with Dada Saheb Phalake Award on Monday. He is the third person from Tamil cinema to receive the prestigious award. Previously, the award was presented to actor Shivaji Ganesan and director Balachander.

Rajinikanth thanked everyone who congratulated him on winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award on Twitter.
