Nayanthara, Vignesh Sivan issues apology letter for wearing shoes in Tirupati temple

During their visit to Tirumala temple on Friday, newlywed film couple Nayanthara and her husband, Vignesh Sivan, unintentionally welcomed legal trouble from themselves. The newlyweds were visiting the hill temple to celebrate Lord Venkateswara's Kalyanotsavam. According to reports, they were sent a legal notice for allegedly wearing shoes within the shrine and also doing photoshoots.

According to ANI, Vignesh wrote an apologetic letter to the temple's governing body, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. He wrote in the letter that he and Nayanthara had planned to marry in the temple but had to postpone the ceremony due to logistical issues. They went straight from the ceremony to the temple to acquire Lord Balaji's blessings in order to complete the wedding. However, due of the crowds, they had to leave the temple and return at a later date.

"We truly apologise to those we may have upset, and we mean no disrespect to the Lord whom we love," he continued. We appreciate everyone's love and well wishes for our special day, and we hope you will continue to shower us with nothing but the best.

Nayanthara and Vignesh had been together for seven years before they married on June 9 at Mahabalipuram. Only close friends and family members attended their wedding ceremony, which was held at a private location. The wedding was also attended by director Atlee and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. In Atlee's upcoming film, Jawan, Nayanthara will be featured alongside SRK.
