Night Sky on Amazon Prime: There is no denial of the fact that science fiction is one of the best things that has happened to the cinematic world. With the exclusive OTT release of Night Sky, Amazon Prime Video is providing us another reason to experience majestic Sci-fi mystery.

Night Sky, featuring J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek, has undoubtedly provided an unmatchable vision of the universe.

Whether you are into Sci-fi films or not, the Night Sky is a must-watch for all the binge-watchers. Below are 5 major reasons that you need to reserve your weekend for this Sci-fi mystery.

An elderly couple spending their final years in seclusion, and a chamber that they had discovered by mistake near their home. The chamber leads to an odd, uninhabited planet with a sky clear enough to see the neighbouring planets and stars with the naked eye.

The couple appears to bury their sorrows in the midst of this beautiful experience, until one day when a mysterious young guy disrupts that tranquility with his never-ending quest for what is within. As a result, the true nature of the chamber is revealed. Interesting, isn't it?

A cast of Oscar winners

Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons, both Oscar winners, will undoubtedly provide a memorable performance, which can be seen in the enthralling trailer. Their on-screen chemistry transports the spectator into the happy lives of an elderly husband and wife, their everyday hardships, and their joy, which is the series' true centerpiece.

A heartfelt film

Despite its sci-fi setting, the series' plot is based on real-life events. Aspects of death, time, fear, and family commitment are carefully focused upon throughout the show, giving layers of emotion to the performances.

Plenty of mystery

Imagine walking through a door to a 4K image of a desert with massive planets hanging in the sky! The teaser, which features fantastic graphics, reveals how a magical meeting with outer space can be a constant source of joy for Spacek and Simmons' characters Irene and Franklin York. A path to that room, on the other hand, causes headaches for the couple who wants others out of this enigma.

The series advances with age

For a change, the sci-fi series is led by an elderly couple who bear the emotional and psychological burden of the entire plot and remain fascinated about what the world has in store for mortal humans. The futuristic elements emphasise marital conflict with unexpected obstacles, like an extraterrestrial arrival that appears to be human but sends off dubious signals.

Night Sky will be premiered on May 20, 2022, on Amazon Prime.
