Prime Video has unveiled a fresh addition to its original content lineup from its own universe. "Call Me Bae," the upcoming original sitcom from the streaming platform, is set to feature Bollywood star Ananya Panday in a leading role. Actor Varun Dhawan recently broke the news about the comedy series in a playful social media post. The short video clip shows Panday channeling her inner fashionista while offering Dhawan tips on style and haute couture.
"Call Me Bae," the plot revolves around Bae, a billionaire fashion icon portrayed by Ananya Panday, who faces disinheritance from her ultra-wealthy family due to a scandalous controversy. Abandoned and left to fend for herself, Bae embarks on a journey of self-discovery, challenging stereotypes, navigating prejudices, and uncovering her true identity.
The Show is a Dharmatic Entertainment production, featuring Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra as executive producers, with Collin D'Cunha as the director. The series has been created by Ishita Moitra, who also co-wrote it with Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair. It will be available for streaming on Prime Video in the near future.
