Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah, the movie features Adah Sharma alongside Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, Siddhi Idnani, and Devadarshini in pivotal roles.

About The Kerala Story

'The Kerala Story' narrates the journey of a Hindu woman from Kerala, portrayed by Adah Sharma, who is coerced into adopting Islam and forcibly taken to Syria. There, she finds herself intertwined with the ISIS terrorist organization, enduring harrowing experiences. The film also sheds light on how young men were manipulated into luring Hindu and Christian women from Kerala into joining extremist groups under the guise of love, leading them into conflict zones. These events transpired between 2018-2019 when a significant number of Kerala youth fell prey to terrorist influences.

The film garnered attention since its trailer release. The trailer claimed that 32,000 women had gone missing from Kerala, a figure that faced criticism for its accuracy. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee denounced the film as a "distorted story," prompting a ban in her state. However, the Supreme Court intervened, directing the state government to lift the ban on the movie's screening. Despite controversies, "The Kerala Story" emerged as one of the most successful films at the box office in 2023.
