Pakistani politician and singer Abrar Ul Haq accused the team of ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ of copying his song ‘Nach Punjaban’ for the upcoming film that stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the lead roles.
Abrar Ul Haq took to Twitter and said that his song ‘Nach Punjaban’ was not sold and that "producers like Karan Johar" should not duplicate the music. The singer has also warned of filing a lawsuit for the damage.
He further said that his song was copied six times; however, he did not specify if he was talking about Karan Johar or Bollywood in general.
His tweet reads, “I have not sold my song “ Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar.”
Meanwhile, T-Series responded to Abrar Ul Haq's claims and stated that the song's rights were "legally acquired" by the label and that it was also available on Lollywood Classics' YouTube channel.
“All due credits shall be included across all platforms when song releases. As represented by Moviebox Records Label the said song copyrights exclusively vest with movie box only with all valid documents,” the statement reads.
Notably, the song ‘Nach Punjaban’ was featured in the trailer for Jug Jugg Jeeyo, which was recently released and was loved by the people.
