Pankaj Tripathi to play Atal Bihari Vajpayee in upcoming biopic, says 'its a privilege for me'

Pankaj Tripathi to play Atal Bihari Vajpayee: The audience has been curious to find out who will play one of the co-founders and a senior leader of the Bhartiya Janta Party ever since the announcement of a movie about the three-time Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was made.

Utkarsh Naithani is the screenwriter for the movie, which is being directed by three-time National Award winner Ravi Jadhav.

While sharing about the experience of being a part of the project, Pankaj Tripathi stated, he felt honoured to portray such a great human being and a politician on the silver screen. He further said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not only a politician but so much more. He was an extraordinary writer and a renowned poet, and being able to fit in his shoes is nothing less than a privilege for an actor like him.

The biography of Vajpayee, who led India through three different prime ministerships between 1996 and 2004, is the center of the movie. In 1996, he served as prime minister for 13 days; the next year, from 1998 to 1999, he served for 13 months. He held the position of PM from 1999 to 2004 for the full five years of his tenure.

Meanwhile, directed Ravi Jadhav said, that as a director he couldn't ask for any great story than that of the former Prime Minister. In addition to this, he feels grateful that he is having Pankaj Tripathi on board for the movie. He believes that he would live up to the expectation of everyone with ATAL.
