'Power Rangers' actor Jason David Frank dies at 49

Jason David Frank death news: In shocking news, Hollywood actor Jason David Frank who is particularly noted for his role as Tommy Oliver in the first series of 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' passes away. Frank, who played the Green Power Ranger, died at the age of 49 and as per reports, the actor attempted suicide.

The manager of Frank, Justine Hunt, announced his demise in a statement on Sunday. No date or cause of death was mentioned, however, she did request to respect the family’s privacy.

She said, “privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.”

Walter Emmanuel Jones, the original Black Power Ranger who played alongside Frank in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, expressed his shock and stated, "My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family"

Another co-actor Amy Jo Johnson said, "Can't believe it. My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family. Jase, you were beautiful and truly unique. My life just won't be the same without your frenetic, hilarious, caring, driven and creative ball of energy. I will always love you, dear friend. Please Rest now in Peace."

The actor is survived by his four children, sons Hunter and Jacob, plus daughters Skye and Jenna.

Meanwhile, Jason’s demise came as a shock to everyone including his friends from the film industry.

Jason, who was a well-known star of the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series, which lasted from 1993 to 1996, later also appeared in ‘Power Rangers Zeo’, ‘Turbo’, and ‘Dino Thunder’.
