On Sunday, the Election Commission of India prohibited Actor Sonu Sood from entering in polling Booths in Moga, where his sister Malvika is contesting for the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022 on a Congress ticket.
Punjab Police seized Sonu Sood's automobile today when he attempted to enter a voting station in Moga district. The 117-seat Punjab legislative assembly is up for election today.
"Sonu Sood was trying to enter a polling booth. During this, his car was confiscated and he was sent home" reported ANI.
Sonu Sood will face legal punishment if he leaves his house during the election, according to the official.
In response, Sonu Sood revealed that he arrived at the polling station after hearing that money was being distributed at some booths.
Malvika Sood, the actor's sister, is running for Congress in Moga. She became a member of Congress on January 10 of this year.
Sonu Sood accused other Moga candidates of purchasing votes on Twitter.
“We got to know of threat calls at various booths by the opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money is being distributed at some booths. So it's our duty to go check and ensure fair elections. That is why we had gone out. Now, we are at home. There should be fair polls," he said.

The Congress, AAP, SAD-BSP, BJP-PLC-SAD (Sanyukt), and the Sanyukt Samaj Morcha, a political front of several farmer groups, are all competing in Punjab.
The Congress won 77 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly in 2017, while the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP only managed to win 18 seats. The AAP, on the other hand, came in second place with 20 seats.
