Punjabi Rapper Raftaar Gets Kidnapped Ahead Of A Song Launch - Watch

Rapper-lyricist-composer Raftaar, formerly a member of music group Mafia Mundeer, got kidnapped and held hostage just before the release of a song from Ayushmann Khurana and Radhika Apte starrer film ‘AndhaDhun.’

Raftaar’s fans need not to worry as this was the promotional stunt adopted the makers of the movie.

Film’s producer Viacom 18 Motion Pictures took to their Twitter handle to share a video with their fans in which rapper Raftaar can be seen held hostage.

They captioned the video as: “@Raftaarmusic is KIDNAPPED & held hostage. You can help him get released. Tweet to release him & unlock the song. We need 5000 people to tweet for his release.”

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film also star Tabu in the lead role.

In the film, Ayushmann plays a role of a blind piano artist while Radhika plays his love interest.

Tabu, on the other hand, will be seen in a grey character once again after ‘Drishyam’.

The songs of the film are composed by Amit Trivedi and Raftaar. The lyrics, however, are written by Jaideep Sahni and Raftaar.

Produced by Viacom 18 and Matchbox Picture, AndhaDhun has been scheduled for an October 5 release.
