Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Kangana gets facilitated with Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Due to the epidemic, the award presentation was postponed for two years, and the winners were revealed in March of this year for films released in 2019.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu bestowed the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award on Rajinikanth on Monday, along with other winners of the 67th National Film Awards. Dhanush, Rajnikanth's son-in-law, Manoj Bajpayee (best actor), and Kangana Ranaut are among the other prize winners (best actress).

Due to the epidemic, the award presentation was postponed for two years, and the winners were revealed in March of this year for films released in 2019.

In his remarks to the winners, Naidu stated that films should serve a higher purpose by carrying social, moral, and ethical values. "Films should avoid depicting violence and should express society's opposition to societal problems," he stated.

"I dedicate this (award) to my guru, my mentor K Balachander sir," Rajinikanth stated. I owe my tremendous values to my brother Sathyanarayana Rao, who is a father figure in my life." He also acknowledged Raj Bahadur, a "friend, driver, and transport colleague" who "recognized the acting aptitude in me and urged me to join cinema," he stated. "All of my producers and directors, technicians, artists, distributors, and the media, as well as all of my fans and Tamils."

While Dhanush won the best actor for his role in 'Asuran,' Bajpayee won for his role in 'Bhosle.' For her roles in 'Manikarnika' and 'Panga,' Ranaut was named best actress.

The best film award went to Priyadarshan's Malayalam film 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham,' while the best director award went to Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan for his Hindi film 'Bahattar Hoorain.'
