Rakhi Vijan clears air on playing Daya Ben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Rakhi Vijan TMKOC news: After Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben's exit from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, several names are making rounds on social media for her replacement. Earlier, it was said that Disha Vakani would return to the show, however, there have been speculations that she would be replaced with a new face, who is now rumoured to be actress Rakhi Vijan.

There were several reports that 'Hum Paanch' actress Rakhi Vijan will be replacing Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

However, Rakhi Vijan took to social media and denied the news about playing Daya Ben in TMKOC.

Prominently known for her iconic character 'Sweety Mathur' from the '90s sitcom 'Hum Paanch,' Rakhi Vijan was said to have been shortlisted for the role of Daya Ben.

Rakhi denied the rumours of being a part of TMKOC. Taking to Instagram, she shared a post and wrote that the news of replacing Disha came as a shock to her. "Hello every1..this news is a rumor..which shocks me..I haven't been approached by the producers or the channel..," she captioned.

'Hum Paanch' actress has part of several shows like 'Dekh Bhai Dekh', 'Banegi Apni Baat', 'Naagin 4'. Also, she has featured in Bollywood films like 'Golmaal Returns' and even participated in 'Bigg Boss 2'.
