Renowned filmmaker Esmayeel Shroff passes away; Bollywood mourns his death

Esmayeel Shroff death news: In shocking news, famous filmmaker Esmayeel Shroff passed away at the age of 62 years. Esmayeel Shroff, a director best known for 'Thodisi Bewafaii' and 'Love 86', died on Wednesday at Mumbai's Kokilaben Ambani Hospital after spending a month there on treatment. After suffering a heart attack, the director was taken to the hospital where he was being treated.

In addition to others, Shroff was well-known for directing films such as 'God and Gun', 'Zid', 'Police Public', 'Majhdhaar', 'Dil Akhir Dil Hai', 'Bulundi', 'Nishchaiy', and 'Suryaa'.

Bollywood actors Govinda, Padmini Kolhapure, and several others expressed their heartfelt tribute to the filmmaker.

"He was the first person in my life to tell me that Govinda understood movies, Govinda remarked in an emotional statement following his passing. He was very important in transforming me from Govind into Govinda" said Govinda.

"I did Thodisi Bewafaii and Ahista Ahista with him," recalled Padmini Kolhapure of her time spent working with Shroff.  She further said that she had a lot of affection for the movie 'Ahista Ahista'. She said that  Esmayeel would express what he wanted because he was quite certain of it.

'Thoda Tum Badlo, Thoda Hum' was the last film that Esmayeel directed. He made his directing debut with the movie 'Agar', and with the critically acclaimed 'Thodisi Bewafaii', which starred Rajesh Khanna and Shabana Azmi, he became well-known.
