Telugu actor Krishnam Raju death news: In shocking news, veteran Telugu actor and Prabhas's uncle Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju aka Krishnam Raju died on September 11 in Hyderabad.

According to the reports, he passed away early on Sunday at 3.25 am. He was receiving treatment at a private hospital and had been dealing with health concerns for quite some time.

The actor died on September 11 in the wee hours of Sunday. The actor has contributed to more than 183 films and was known as 'Rebel Star. The news of Krishnam Raju's death left his fans shocked.

The final rites of the actor will be performed on Monday, September 12. Ever since the news of Krishnam Raju's death surfaced on social media, the entire South film fraternity has been in shock. Several stars have paid tribute to the actor and prayed for the family's strength.

Actor Mahesh Babu wrote, "Shocked to learn that Krishnam Raju garu is no more... A very sad day for me and the entire industry. His life, his work and his immense contribution to cinema will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to Prabhas and the entire family during this difficult time."

Shocked by the news, Nithiin shared a tweet that reads, "Saddened to hear about the sudden passing on of #KrishnamRaju garu. Your contribution to the industry is irreplaceable sir. May your soul rest in peace. My Heartfelt condolences to his family members and the dearest ones…Om Shant."

Meanwhile, Mega actor Chiranjeevi wrote a brief note along with which he captioned, "Rest In Peace Rebel Star!"

Jr NTR penned, "Deeply saddened by Krishnam Raju Garu's passing away. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace…"

Who was Krishnam Raju?

Krishnam Raju, who was born on January 20, 1940, in Mogalthur, West Godavari District, made his acting debut in the 1966 movie Chilaka Gorinka with Krishna Kumari. The film was directed by Kotayya Pratyagatma.

The blockbuster films -'Bhaktha Kannappa', 'Thandra Paparayudu', and 'Billa', among others, were bankrolled by producer Krishnam Raju under the Gopikrishna Movies label. He was most recently seen in Prabhas's 'Radhe Shyam' in which he played Paramahamsa.
