'The Kashmir Files' actor Darshan Kumar agitated with IFFI Jury for criticising the film

Darshan Kumar who played a role in 'The Kashmir Files', reacted to IFFI jury head Nadav Lapid's remarks on the film. He said that the film showcases reality and not vulgarity. The IFFI closing ceremony which took place on the 28th of November , ended on a controversial note after the jury head Nadav Lapid came down deliberately on 'The Kashmir Files' . He called it 'vulgar , propaganda' film. Darshan Kumar who played a key role in director Vivek Agnihotri's film has reacted to Nadav Lapid's mean comments.

Then actor Darshan Kumar added that , Everyone has their own individual opinions on anything they see and perceive. But one can't deny the fact that 'The Kashmir Files' is a film which has depicted the actual plight of Kashmiri pandit community , who are still fighting for justice against the brutal acts of terrorism. He further went on saying that the film is not based on vulgarity but on reality.

The Israeli Filmmaker Nadav while addressing the audience was heard saying, that they were all disturbed and shocked by the 15th film : 'The Kashmir Files' that felt to him like a  propaganda and stated the a vulgar one . He also stated that it was an inappropriate artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival . He added saying that he feels totally comfortable to share these feelings openly on stage . Since the spirit of having a festival is to accept  a critical discussion which is essential for art and for life .

Earlier this March, the film had a theatrical release and went on to break all box- office records . The film had starred Anupam Kher , Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi which revolved around the killings of Kahmiri Pandits in 1990 from the valley. The film was received well by the audiences and critics in India.
