Aishwarya Rajinikanth lodges police complaint claiming theft of Rs. 36 lakh worth of gold jewellery from her Chennai residence

Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the daughter of legendary Tamil actor Rajinikanth and a noted filmmaker herself, has lodged a complaint with the police that her gold jewellery and ornaments worth lakhs of rupees have gone missing from the locker at her Chennai residence. She has named three of her servants as suspects in the alleged theft.

According to her complaint, Aishwarya had kept the valuables, which included diamond sets, antique gold pieces, Navaratna sets, bangles, and nearly 60 sovereigns of gold, in a locker at her home for the past three years. However, the locker had been moved around several times during this period, including to her ex-husband Dhanush's apartment in 2021 and her father Rajinikanth's residence last year. The keys to the locker remained in Aishwarya's flat.

In her complaint, Aishwarya revealed that some household staff members were aware of the jewellery's presence in the locker. She named her two domestic workers and a driver as suspects in the case. An investigation has been initiated by the police after registering a case under Section 381 of the IPC.

Aishwarya is currently busy shooting her upcoming Tamil directorial Laal Salaam, which stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in lead roles. Rajinikanth will be making an extended cameo in the film, which is rumoured to be set against the backdrop of cricket and communism.

This film marks Aishwarya's return to direction after a gap of seven years. She expressed her joy and gratitude on social media about the opportunity to work on the project. The film's first look poster was released on the day the project was announced, and the shooting commenced earlier this month after a pooja ceremony.

It remains to be seen how the police investigation into the alleged theft at Aishwarya's residence unfolds. Meanwhile, fans of Rajinikanth and Aishwarya are eagerly waiting for Laal Salaam's release, which promises to be an exciting addition to Tamil cinema.
