Article 370 box Office Collection Day 1: Yami Gautam-Starrer Opens Strong with Rs 5.75 crore
Yami Gautam's latest Bollywood movie, Article 370, made an impressive start at the box office on its first day, February 23rd. The film, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, collected Rs 5.75 crore on its opening day.
On its first day, the film managed to collect Rs 5.75 crore, showcasing a 42.8 percent Hindi occupancy.
The movie revolves around the controversial abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to the region of Jammu and Kashmir. Yami Gautam portrays the character of an intelligence officer in the film, highlighting the political tensions and challenges surrounding the decision to revoke Article 370.
"Article 370" sheds light on the themes of terrorism and corruption prevalent in Jammu and Kashmir. The trailer of the film emphasized the rise of terrorism in the region, portraying radicals vying for control. Yami's character, an NIA agent, is tasked with a mission in Kashmir amidst escalating tensions, with the government determined to abolish Article 370.
In addition to Yami Gautam, the movie features Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in prominent roles. During the trailer launch, director Aditya emphasized the film's sincerity and purpose, stating, “The intent of the film is correct and till the time I am a filmmaker, producer, and a director, the intent will always be right."
Despite facing criticism, especially from those with vested agendas, Aditya remains resolute in his commitment to creating meaningful cinema. The strong opening of "Article 370" underscores the audience's interest in thought-provoking narratives and socially relevant themes depicted on the big screen.
