Comedian-host Bharti Singh and her writer-husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa have found some relief after a special court rejected the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) plea to revoke their bail in a narcotics case. The couple was detained in 2020 following the alleged discovery of 86.5 grams of cannabis (ganja) in their residence. However, they were released on bail by a magistrate's court the next day upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 15,000 each.

Subsequently, the NCB appealed the magistrate court's decision and approached the special NDPS court to request the cancellation of the bail. The NCB argued that they were not given an opportunity to present their case during the previous hearing. However, the recent judgment of the court clarified that the couple was not accused of tampering with the course of justice or violating the terms of their bail.

According to PTI, the court's ruling last week dismissed the claims made by the NCB regarding interference with the legal process or breaching bail conditions. The magistrate court, despite the absence of the prosecutor and investigator, continued to hear the case while awaiting the NCB's response.

In light of this, the special court remarked, "The prosecution had the opportunity to oppose the application, but they failed to take advantage of it."

It's worth mentioning that the NCB initiated the investigation into the matter following the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, after which the names of several Bollywood and TV celebrities emerged in connection with alleged drug use. Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa were questioned during the interrogation of a drug dealer.
