There are list of many attendees from the Indian landmass that were announced along with the Indian films that includes Anurag Kashyap's 'Keneddy' in the featured list including Yudhajit Basu's 'Nahemich', an Alumnus of FTII, Pune which will be a part of the Parallel La Cinef section and a restored Manipuri movie, 'Ishanou' (1990) in the Cannes Classic programme of restored creations.

As Cannes Film Festival is one day ahead us and there are numerous curiosities raising about the fact of Indian representation at the prestigious filmy utopia. There are list of many attendees from the Indian landmass that were announced along with the Indian films that includes Anurag Kashyap's 'Keneddy' in the featured list. 

There's no movie for the competition

The 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival is happening from Tuesday, May 16, 2023. The festival will continue until May 27, 2023 under which three Indian films have already made it to the fest under varying list. However, this year would mark 29th year without an Indian film for winning the competition of Palme D'Or of the event or the Golden Palm. It was in 1994, when Malayali movie, 'Swaham' was selected for the inevitable competition. 

'Kennedy', 'Nehemich & 'Ishanou'

Meanwhile, under the direction of Anurag Kashyap, 'Kennedy' is the first movie that made it to the screening list including Yudhajit Basu's 'Nehemich', an Alumnus of FTII, Pune which will be a part of the Parallel La Cinef section and a restored Manipuri movie, 'Ishanou' (1990) in the Cannes Classic programme of restored creations. Although there are no Indian movies yet for the winning competition. At the same time, 'Agra', Karan Bahl's film is movie to be selected for the world premiere at the Director's Fortnight parallel selection. 

Anurag Kashyap's first feature film

Anurag Kashyap is one undoubtful director from India whose name has a much bigger impact on the festival as many of his prestigious movies were world premiered at the Director's Fortnight including movies like 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Raman Raghav 2.0' and 'Ugly' but this year Sunny Leone starrer 'Keneddy' will be his first feature film to get selected in the screening.

About 'Keneddy'

Meanwhile 'Kennedy' is a 2023 neo-noir thriller movie based on an insomniac ex-cop written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. The movie stars Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhatt in the leading roles. The movie features a former police officer who is searching for salvation under varying conditions.
