Influencer Sapna Gill's Accusations Fall Flat: Prithvi Shaw Cleared of Harassment Charges
Cricketer Prithvi Shaw can finally heave a sigh of relief as the police have officially declared the assault and harassment allegations made against him by social media influencer Sapna Gill as unfounded. This significant development reports comes as a welcome vindication for Shaw, who found himself entangled in a dispute earlier this year. The investigating officer diligently prepared and submitted a comprehensive report to the magistrate court, presenting conclusive evidence that Gill's accusations were entirely false.
The incident in question took place on February 15 at a Santacruz hotel, where Shaw was enjoying a meal with his friends. What started as a minor disagreement over a selfie quickly spiraled out of control, with the entire altercation captured on video and subsequently circulated on various social media platforms. It was in the aftermath of this incident that Sapna Gill accused Prithvi Shaw of assault and harassment.
However, a meticulous investigation by the police uncovered crucial evidence that painted a different picture of events. The CCTV footage from the pub revealed that Gill and her friends were visibly intoxicated and engaged in dancing. When Shaw arrived, Sapna's friend, Shobhit Thakur, attempted to record him using his mobile phone. Shaw, understandably, prevented him from doing so. After conducting thorough interviews with the individuals present at the scene and meticulously examining the available footage, it was unequivocally concluded that Sapna did not engage in any inappropriate physical contact with Shaw.

In a surprising twist, the police also provided the court with additional information regarding their examination of CCTV footage from the nearby Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower. This footage revealed that Sapna Gill had been tailing Prithvi Shaw's car with a baseball bat in her possession. Furthermore, she and her friends were observed causing damage to the car's windshield. These findings were further corroborated by CISF officers, who confirmed that no incident matching Gill's allegations took place.

It is worth noting that following the incident on February 15, a complaint was filed by Prithvi Shaw's friends against Sapna Gill and her companions, leading to Gill's subsequent arrest. However, she was released on bail on February 20. Upon her release, Sapna Gill retaliated by filing a case against Prithvi Shaw, his friends Aashish Yadav, Brijesh, and several others, accusing them of harassment, incitement, and physical assault.
With the police now refuting the allegations and presenting evidence that undermines Gill's claims, the court has ordered the submission of complete video footage of the incident. The hearing has been rescheduled for June 28, allowing both parties to present their respective evidence.
