Jasmin Bhasin's Doctor Debunks Myths About Her Eye Incident; Shares Video
Actress Jasmin Bhasin recently suffered a corneal injury and took to social media on Sunday, July 28, to update her fans on her condition. She appeared without glasses and mentioned that she was recovering well. Jasmin also shared a video with her medical team to dispel misconceptions about the incident, particularly regarding the use of contact lenses.
In the video, Jasmin addressed the rumours and fears surrounding her eye injury, which occurred during an event in Delhi. She wrote, "So I saw lots of people coming out with their own scary and incorrect versions of what exactly happened to me during an eye accident. Also, lots of people are now petrified of using contact lenses. Guys, I have been using lenses for 20 years and this is the first time an accident happened with me. Here is @drmehtahimanshu @vissioneye who were with me in this journey and helped me heal. Thank you so much, doc, and your complete team for being so warm and positive."
Her doctor discussed the importance of proper lens care, stating, "Contact lenses are like using an AK-47; they are very nice, they are your great friends but if you misuse or abuse them, they can create havoc in life." He clarified that Jasmin's injury was not due to an infection but rather because she used expired contact lenses, which caused chemicals to damage her eyes.
The doctor assured that Jasmin is now fully recovered and can resume her everyday life, though she must take precautions and limit the use of makeup to some extent.
Jasmin recounted her experience: "I was in Delhi for an event on July 17, for which I was getting ready. I don’t know what was wrong with my lenses, but after I wore them, my eyes started hurting, and the pain gradually got worse. I wanted to rush to a doctor, but since it was a work commitment, I decided to attend the event and then go to the doctor. I wore sunglasses at the event, and the team helped me manage things because, after a point, I couldn’t see anything."
Jasmin's message and the doctor's insights aim to educate people about the safe use of contact lenses and to correct the misinformation that has been circulating about her eye incident.
