Kannada Actors Kiccha Sudeep, Darshan to Campaign for BJP in Karnataka Elections

 It is being rumored that Kiccha Sudeep, a popular Kannada actor, may campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. The actor is expected to reveal his political plans on April 5. Sudeep's conversation about politics durin earlier this year has resurfaced and is going viral again. During the interview, the Vikrant Rona actor made headlines for his meeting with Congress leader DK Shivakumar, but gave a cryptic reply when asked about it.

The ruling BJP is looking to secure a historic second consecutive term in Karnataka, and is not only deploying political heavyweights but also roping in "star power" by approaching several Kannada actors to be its star campaigners. Sudeep, who belongs to the Nayaka caste, has a massive fan base and holds sway in the Kalyana-Karnataka region, which could work in the BJP's favor.

In February, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar had met Sudeep at the latter’s residence, leading to speculation about political parleys between the superstar and the opposition party. However, both Sudeep and Shivakumar's aides later clarified that it was a personal visit with no political motives.

With the latest reports, Sudeep and another popular Kannada actor, Darshan Thoogudeepa, are reportedly set to join the BJP ahead of the crucial assembly elections in Karnataka. They will join the party in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and other party leaders at a private hotel in Bengaluru.
