Sam Bahadur trailer: Vicky Kaushal Shines as India's First Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw
Vicky Kaushal is all set for his new movie, 'Sam Bahadur' and, the film's trailer was released, which has left fans in awe.
The movie explores the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. He was the first Indian Army officer to achieve the prestigious rank of Field Marshal. Sam Manekshaw played a vital role in India's victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, which led to the birth of Bangladesh.
The trailer gives us a sneak peek into Sam Manekshaw's exceptional leadership and the tough challenges he had to overcome. It shows his unwavering determination to win the war, even when there was political pressure to maintain the status quo. In just two minutes and thirty-eight seconds, the trailer gives us glimpses of Manekshaw's remarkable 40-year military career, highlighting his relationship with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and how they worked together to defeat Pakistan. It also emphasizes Manekshaw's belief in the importance of discipline in the Army.
The film stars Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw, a charismatic war hero, and Fatima Sana Shaikh as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Sanya Malhotra plays the role of Silloo, Sam's wife.
During the trailer launch, Vicky Kaushal expressed, "Both my parents hail from Punjab, and I had often heard about him through them. However, I had never seen what he looked like. It was during our conversation that I discreetly searched for him on the internet and came across his picture. I remember saying, 'He's incredibly good-looking,' and I thought to myself, 'There's no way I'll be cast in this role.' Nevertheless, I must extend my gratitude to Meghna for entrusting me with the part of this striking character," he remarked during the film's trailer launch.
Sam Manekshaw's dedication to the military spanned over four decades and included participation in five battles. His victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war played a crucial role in the creation of Bangladesh, and he was the first Indian Army officer to be honored with the rank of Field Marshal. He was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1972 for his outstanding service.
The movie is written by Bhavani Iyer, Shantanu Shrivastava, and Meghna Gulzar. 'Sam Bahadur' is scheduled to hit theaters on December 1.
