Terrorist Attack in Reasi: Condolences Pour In From Celebrities Against Brutal Attack on Pilgrims

Social media is filled with sorrow and anger after the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district on Sunday. The attack claimed the lives of nine pilgrims, including a child, and injured 33 others. Prominent celebrities have voiced their condemnation and expressed their condolences.

Actress Richa Chadha expressed her dismay on social media, writing, "Only cowards can attack pilgrims peacefully headed to a place of worship. May justice be served. Heartbreaking news at the start of this week."

Actor Varun Dhawan shared his grief and condemnation, stating, "Devastated by the horrific attack on innocent pilgrims in Reasi. I strongly condemn this cowardly terrorist act. Praying for the departed souls. My condolences to the victims and their families."

On Tuesday morning, Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram to voice her distress, questioning the alarming rise of hatred worldwide. She wrote, "Heartbroken. This brutal attack on innocent pilgrims is unfathomable. Why target civilians and children?! It's difficult to grasp the extent of hatred prevailing in the world."

Ayushmann Khurrana described the attack as "devastating," and echoed similar sentiments as Varun Dhawan, condemning it as a "cowardly terrorist attack."

Actress Parineeti Chopra also shared her sorrow, posting on X, "Heartbroken to see the images coming in from #Reasi. Praying for the family of the deceased; may God give them strength, and may the injured recover as soon as possible."

The attack occurred when terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori cave shrine in Reasi district. The incident took place near Teryath village at around 6:10 pm. The bus, carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra, plunged into a gorge in the Pouni area, leading to the tragic loss of lives and injuries.

The terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba is suspected to be behind the attack. The Jammu and Kashmir police have formed multiple teams to investigate, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) assessed the situation on Monday, with their forensic team collecting evidence from the scene.
