Trouble mounts for 'Kedarnath' producer Prerna Arora as ED registers money laundering case against her

'Kedarnath' producer Prerna Arora Controversy: In a shocking development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday registered a money laundering case against the film producer Prerna Arora in connection with the case of Rs 31.6 crore fraud.

According to information, Prerna Arora was summoned on Wednesday and now a case of money laundering has been registered against her as she failed to appear. She cited that she was out of town for official work.

Likewise, Prerna Arora sought time through her advocate, Vivek Wasvani, as per IndiaToday. She is known as the producer of films like 'Kedarnath', 'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha', 'Padman', 'Fanney Khan', and 'Pari' among others.

Besides, she was also involved in the making of a biopic on Abhinav Bindra. Earlier in 2018, the officials of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had arrested Prerna Arora for allegedly cheating film producer Vashu Bhagnani of Rs 31.6 crore.

As per the information, Prerna was charged under Sections 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

After she was accused of fraud, Prernaa had released a statement in which she stated that there was no truth to the claims. She had also said that Vashu Bhagnani had made threats to her family before.
