'Aashiqui' Franchise: Vishesh Films Takes Legal Action on Unauthorized Deals
There was quite a stir on social media when a leaked song clip claimed to be from the upcoming movie, 'Aashiqui 3' starring Kartik Aaryan went viral. This leaked snippet caused a buzz, but it was a cause for concern as there was no official confirmation from Vishesh Films, the production company behind the movie. However, now, the makers of 'Aashiqui 3' have taken significant steps to address this issue.
Vishesh Films, the production house responsible for the 'Aashiqui' franchise, including the 1990 film 'Aashiqui' and the 2013 hit 'Aashiqui 2' has issued a legal notice. This notice aims to put an end to the spread of misinformation surrounding their upcoming film, 'Aashiqui 3'.
In their official statement, Vishesh Films made it clear that they are the rightful owners of all intellectual property rights and derivative rights associated with the 'Aashiqui' franchise. This includes the previous two films in the series. They stressed that any communication, engagement, or commitment related to the production, distribution, or marketing of any works connected to the franchise, without their involvement, is unauthorized and fraudulent. Such actions will be considered invalid and void.
The makers have also warned that any violations of this notice, whether in the past, present, or future, may result in legal consequences, including the right to claim damages from the responsible parties.
'Aashiqui 3' was officially announced in September 2022, creating excitement among fans of the franchise. The leaked song, titled "Bhool Jaa," believed to be sung by Arijit Singh, attracted attention from netizens. Arijit Singh had gained fame for his songs in "Aashiqui 2," particularly the chart-topping "Tum Hi Ho."
"Aashiqui 2," the previous installment in the series, was released in May 2013 and achieved massive success at the box office. In the meantime, In September 2022, the makers confirmed the return of the franchise with 'Aashiqui 3' and revealed that Kartik Aaryan would play the male lead.
