The Collision:
On a Sunday morning at Onda Station in Bankura, a freight train was stationed on the loop line, bound for Bishnupur. Simultaneously, another freight train from Bankura unintentionally entered the loop line. The moving train collided with the rear portion of the stationary train with substantial velocity, resulting in a catastrophic impact. The force was so intense that the engine of the moving train mounted over the stationary train. As a consequence, multiple compartments were overturned in the process.

The Cause:
Aditya Kumar Choudhary, the CPRO of the South Eastern Railway, shed light on the cause behind this unfortunate collision. According to him, one of the trains was supposed to stop at the signal while the other train was stationary on the loop line. However, due to a grave error, the train that was meant to halt at the signal proceeded beyond the red signal. This violation led to the derailment of the train and subsequently caused the collision.
