What is the all craze with “Cow Hug Day” on February 14? Netizens seems shocked!
Big breaking news seems to surface around social media ever since the Animal Welfare Department has appealed to the people to celebrate a different festivity on the day of love, valentines day. The department urged the netizens of the country to celebrate “Cow Hug day” on February 14 to spread awareness and concern for the respected animal.
The Board has issued a notice under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. The cow has been the most religious animal in the country ever since the pre-human ages. But replacing an age-old modern festivity with another one focusing on religion is absolutely absurd. Ever since Wednesday, the notice spread, netizens have stormed with opinions and views on Social media on the decision made by the board.

Numerous memes were created against the board’s decision. “All cow lovers may celebrate February 14 as Cow Hug Day keeping in mind the importance of mother cow and making life happy and full of positive energy,” the notice board quoted. The main idea behind initiating such a decision is preserving Hindu values and their significance. According to the government, extreme modernization has deteriorated the old customs and physical heritage.
People were seen tweeting constantly about the decision. Some were seen supporting the absurd replacement while others kept their conflicting views. One commented “Valentine’s day celebrated as ‘Cow Hug day’ in our country…Hugging animals instead of Humans. What thinking but can understand that poor cows also need affection.
PS- Whoever is planning to do this act on 14th Feb make sure the cow doesn’t kick you. Just warning.” We can understand how sarcastically the decision has been acquired by the Indians though.
