Big breaking news seems to surface around social media ever since the Animal Welfare Department has appealed to the people to celebrate a different festivity on the day of love, valentines day. The department urged the netizens of the country to celebrate “Cow Hug day” on February 14 to spread awareness and concern for the respected animal. publive-image The Board has issued a notice under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. The cow has been the most religious animal in the country ever since the pre-human ages. But replacing an age-old modern festivity with another one focusing on religion is absolutely absurd.  Ever since Wednesday, the notice spread, netizens have stormed with opinions and views on Social media on the decision made by the board.

The main idea behind initiating such a decision is preserving Hindu values and their significance. According to the government, extreme modernization has deteriorated the old customs and physical heritage. publive-image People were seen tweeting constantly about the decision. Some were seen supporting the absurd replacement while others kept their conflicting views. One commented “Valentine’s day celebrated as ‘Cow Hug day’ in our country…Hugging animals instead of Humans. What thinking but can understand that poor cows also need affection.
