Ajay Devgn begins the shoot of his much awaited films 'Drishyam 2' helmed by Abhishek Pathak

Ajay Devgn, the actor who starred in the 2015 crime thriller "Drishyam," began filming the sequel on Thursday.

Drishyam, a film starring Ajay Devgn, was a massive hit when it was released in 2015. The film was a Hindi adaptation of Mohanlal's 2013 Malayalam film of the same name. Ajay has begun filming Drishyam 2 now. On social media, the actor posted a photo of himself with co-star Shriya Saran and filmmaker Abhishek Pathak.

Everything in Drishyam had managed to win hearts, from the stellar cast to the compelling tale and performance. While fans have been eagerly anticipating the sequel to the thriller drama, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran have finally begun filming Drishyam 2.

Ajay uploaded a photo from the set of Drishyam 2 on social media, in which he can be seen discussing a scene with co-star Shriya and director Abhishek Pathak. To be clear, the Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior actor will reprise his role as Vijay Salgaonkar, with Shriya playing his wife Nandini.

Taking to Instagram account Ajay shared a still as he began shooting and captioned, "Can Vijay protect his family again? #Drishyam2 shoot begins. @tabutiful @shriya_saran1109 @abhishekpathakk @kumarmangatpathak”

Drishyam is an emotional thriller directed by Nishikant Kamat that tells the story of Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay), a cable operator whose life revolves around movies and his family: wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughters Anju and Anu. IG Meera Deshmukh is played by Tabu in the film.

According to T-Series' Bhushan Kumar, the successor will be "a notch higher" than the first "Drishyam." "The fans were enthralled by Ajay Devgn's powerful performance and prowess in 'Drishyam.'
