'Kal Ho Naa Ho' turns 20; Karan Johar recalls his dad, Pens down an emotional letter for Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan

Kal Ho Na Ho of 2003 is one such example that defines the Indian cinema's chic authenticity and often been counted as one of the most moving Indian masterpiece ever weaved into the realm of storytelling. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan, the romantic drama has completed 2 decades in the industry today. Walking through the memory lane, It's acing producer, Karan Johar has taken over the film's 20th anniversary to express his emotion through a heartfelt note.

Karan Johar's emotional note the film's 20th anniversary

On Tuesday, 28 November, 2023, Kal Ho Naa Ho has completed 20 years of it's release. Produced by Yash Johar and Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions, it is an emotional romantic drama that sticks through millions heart. On the special occasion of it's 20th anniversary, KJo has taken over his Instagram handle to share a beautiful note dedicated to his dad and the stellar star casts. Sharing a video post of 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' on the gram handle, he wrote, "This film has been such an emotional journey for me and perhaps for all of us, if I have gathered over the many years. To bring such a stellar star casts together with a story that has a beating heart…it’s all kudos to the entire cast and team behind the camera for making Kal Ho Naa Ho still beat strong and within everyone’s hearts." 


Karan Johar goes all emotional while remembering his father

Penning down his feelings further, he also expressed referring the movie to be extra special as it was his father's last film from the Dharma family. "For me, this was the last film that my father was a part of from the Dharma family…and it feels surreal to have his presence in every frame as I re-watch it even till today. Thank you papa, for guiding us through everything & making stories that matter…and for always standing by what is right. I will always miss you," Karan quotes down his emotion. Lastly he also expressed his joyous thankfulness to the film's director Nikkhil Advani and wrote, "And thank you Nikkhil for making a directorial debut that is etched forever in all our collective hearts!"

'Kal Ho Naa Ho' is a 2003 Indian romantic drama directed by Nikkhil Advani as his directorial debut. Starring a stellar ensemble of casts, it comprised Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan in the leading roles. The movie also starred Jaya Bachchan. Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, Lillete Dubey, and Delnaaz Irani in the supporting roles. As stated earlier, the iconic Bollywood cult was produced by the Johar's under the Dharma Productions. Kal Ho Naa ho revolved around a heart wrenching tale of a love triangle  between the leading characters. Some of it's songs are still hummed in the Indian households such as 'Its Time To Disco, Kuch toh Hua Hain and Pretty Woman'.
