Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino get's a new release date; Here's when to expect Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan starrer film
Bollywood's acing filmmaker, Anurag Basu is finally returning to the arena after four years of gap. Basu is now all set to make his directorial comeback through the film 'Metro In Dino' which will star the Indian film's newest duo, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. Meanwhile, the film was announced in December 2022 but after significant delays one after another, the project finally seems to get a release date. As per the industry reports, the film is now roped off for its official release in November 2024.
The makers of the 'Metro In Dino' have taken over their official social media handle to announce the new release date of the film. On Friday morning, 19th April 2024, it revealed, "Love in the city takes center stage as #MetroInDino unfolds the heartwarming tales of modern couples. Mark your calendars for #November 29th to witness the magic of love with an incredible ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sensharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Get ready for a journey through urban romance like never before!"
Featuring a stellar ensemble of casts, the upcoming film will be a stand-alone sequel of Basu's 2007 superhit film 'Life in a Metro' which featured Shilpa Shetty, Kangana Ranaut, Shiney Ahuja, Dharmendra, Irrfan Khan, and Kay Kay Menon in lead roles. Meanwhile, the musical department of the film will be handled under Pritam with whom Anurag has collaborated numerous times earlier in his films like Barfi!, Jagga Jasoos, Life in a Metro, and Ludo.
Recently, during an interview, the director spoke on behalf of his upcoming sequel and said, "Metro In Dino is a tale of the people and for the people! It has been a while since I am working on this one. The storyline is very fresh and relevant, and I look forward to collaborating with amazing artists who bring that essence of contemporary aura with them." Further to the conversation, he revealed about Pritam and its musical direction. "As music plays a very important role in any film, I couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with my dear friend Pritam, who has literally added life to the characters and story with his work," Basu added.
All set to release on 29th November 2024, the romantic drama will bring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan together for the first time. Speaking off their work front, Sara Ali Khan seems to have a lot on her sleeves in 2024 as she has already led in two major films, Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan. Meanwhile, she will also be seen in Sky Force and Jagan Shakti’s yet-to-be-titled project. Aditya Roy Kapur on the other hand was last seen in Gumrah.
