Ayushmann Khurrana Honors Fathers Memory with Special Maha Shivratri Tribute

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana recently poignantly marked Maha Shivratri, paying homage to his late father, P Khurrana, who passed away on May 19, 2023. Known for his expertise in astrology, P Khurrana hailed from Chandigarh and was highly respected in North India for his contributions to the field.

Ayushmann Khurrana Fulfills Father's Wish

Ayushmann, sharing a heartfelt moment on Instagram, revealed how Maha Shivratri had always been a cherished tradition in their family. Recalling their visits to the Sector-6 Panchkula temple during their childhood, Ayushmann reminisced about last year when his father, despite his illness, displayed remarkable courage by visiting the temple alone.

"This is our first Shivratri without him," Ayushmann expressed, reflecting on the absence of his father. He further shared how, during his father's final days, he had fulfilled his wish by sending him a rendition of the Shiv Kailash hymn by @paddyshivoham. Ayushmann fondly recalled his father's words, "Whenever Papa listened to it, he would say, 'Son, your voice will sound very good in this.'"

Maha Shivratri holds significant spiritual importance, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and ignorance. Known as 'the great night of Shiva,' the festival commemorates the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, also known as Shakti. Legend has it that on this auspicious night,  Lord Shiva was accompanied by a diverse assembly of Hindu deities, animals, and demons to Parvati's abode for their celestial marriage.

The union of Shiv and Shakti is revered as the embodiment of love, power, and unity, with Maha Shivratri serving as the celebration of their eternal bond. Across India, devotees observe this festival with fervent devotion, seeking spiritual growth and enlightenment.
