Behind the Scenes Drama: Vijay Raaz's Shocking Removal from 'Son of Sardaar 2'

Ajay Devgn's eagerly awaited sequel, Son of Sardaar 2 (SOS 2), which began production earlier this month in the United Kingdom, has recently been marred by a significant controversy. The film, a follow-up to the 2012 action-comedy hit Son of Sardaar, has seen a notable change in its cast, with Vijay Raaz being replaced by Sanjay Mishra. This development has sparked a heated exchange of allegations between Raaz and the film’s production team.

Reasons Behind Vijay Raaz's Removal

According to reports , Kumar Mangat Pathak, co-producer of the film alongside Ajay Devgn, revealed that Vijay Raaz's departure was due to issues concerning his behavior and his demands on set. Pathak indicated that Raaz had requested larger accommodations and a vanity van, alongside charging an unusually high fee for his spot boy. "His spot boy was receiving ₹20,000 per night, a rate that surpasses even those typically given to major actors," Pathak explained. He further elaborated that while the location in the UK is costly, the production had offered standard rooms to the cast, yet Raaz insisted on premium suites. When informed of the cost implications, Raaz reportedly reacted with rudeness.

Additionally, Pathak accused Raaz of misappropriating advance payments and repeatedly misbehaving with the crew. "You people contacted me; I didn’t come here begging for work," Pathak quoted Raaz as saying, highlighting the actor’s escalating demands and poor conduct despite efforts to meet his requirements.

Vijay Raaz’s Response

In a counterstatement, Vijay Raaz provided his perspective on the situation. He recounted his arrival on set, where he was greeted by director Vijay Arora, Ravi Kishan, and Kumar Mangat Pathak, among others. Raaz stated, "When I exited the van, I noticed Ajay Devgn standing about 25 meters away. I did not approach him to greet him as he appeared busy, and I continued conversing with my friends nearby." He claimed that, approximately 25 minutes later, he was informed by Pathak that he was being removed from the film for failing to greet Devgn. Raaz maintained that he had been interacting with the crew and was dismissed within 30 minutes of his arrival due to this purportedly minor oversight.

Allegations of Misconduct

Adding another layer to the controversy, allegations have surfaced regarding Raaz’s spot boy, who was reportedly involved in an incident of sexual harassment against a hotel staff member after consuming alcohol. Raaz clarified that he was dismissed from the film on August 4th, prior to the alleged incident, and firmly denied any involvement or support for such behavior. He also stated that he is no longer associated with the spot boy in question.
