Deepika Padukone's upcoming film 'The Intern' to go on floors in 2024; Amitabh Bachchan to replace Rishi Kapoor's role in the film?

Deepika Padukone is currently ruling the Indian movie industry not just as an actress but like a true global star. Recently she has basked immense positive reviews for her extended cameo in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer action drama 'Jawan' directed by Atlee Kumar. Currently Miss Padukone is tying her seatbelts for her upcoming movie 'Fighter' co-starring Hrithik Roshan under the directorial of Sidharth Anand. Right on the other hand, 'The Intern' that was earlier under her sleeves made its way to the surface and gave whopping updates about the film. 

Amitabh Bachchan to play an integral role in 'The Intern' 

Starring Deepika Padukone, the respected movie is the Indian take on the Hollywood's iconic movie under the same name starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. Previously the Bollywood's late veteran star, Rishi Kapoor has been roped for the same, but the movie lost it's presence after Mr. Kapoor's heavenly demise. But recently, it has come up to the shore yet again, that the megastar Amitabh Bachchan to replace Rishi Kapoor's leading character alongside Deepika Padukone. As per the flocking reports, the makers are all set to kickstart start it's shooting from the first quarter of 2024. 

'The Intern' to go on floors right after the release of Fighter

As per the sources, the upcoming movie 'The Intern' will be helmed under Deepika Padukone's production venture Ka production, which will also be DP's second installment right after Chhapaak. Just like the 2020 biographical drama, she will be adjoining the film installment, both as an actor and a producer. The source also confirmed that the movie has delayed with the procedures under some unavoidable circumstances. The confirmation was also made that 'The Intern' will go on the floors right after the release of the Sidharth Anand movie 'The Fighter'. "If all goes well, the shoot of the film will begin in January–February next year. While Deepika will be a part of the first schedule of the film, it’s still unclear as to when Big B will begin shooting," the reports stated. 

More About 'The Intern' 

Previously, actress Deepika Padukone has shared the first glimpse of the movie in 2021 and it was suppose to be released by the summer of 2022. But the 'unavoidable circumstances' arose in no time. The Indian version of the 'The Intern' will be directed by Amit Sharma and will be co-produced by Sunil Kheterpal, Warner Brothers India, Ka Productions, and Azure Entertainment and the storyline has been penned by Akshat Ghildail.
