Emraan Hashmi Responds to Kangana's Allegations: Takes on Nepotism and Outsider Struggles in Bollywood

Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi has captured attention with his upcoming web series 'Shoot Time'. Amidst the series' promotional activities, Emraan has openly engaged in discussions about the issue of nepotism.

Emraan Responds to Kangana's Allegations

The actor has also addressed allegations made by Kangana Ranaut regarding nepotism. Emraan expressed surprise at Kangana's remarks during a recent interview. He reflected on his collaboration with Kangana in the film 'Gangster'.

He remarked, 'I have great admiration for Kangana. Not only is she a remarkable actress, but she's also a wonderful person. It's possible that her journey in the industry hasn't been smooth. I had the opportunity to work with her in the successful film 'Gangster', where I portrayed a villainous character while Kangana led the film. The narrative of the film was entirely women-centric. Kangana was relatively new to the industry at that time. Given these circumstances, I fail to comprehend why the issue of nepotism has surfaced. It's unjust to label the entire industry as being involved in substance abuse. This notion is entirely misplaced.'

Emraan further expressed, 'Since the emergence of Covid and the tragic passing of Sushant Singh Rajput, the issue of nepotism has intensified within the industry. Coming from a background rooted in films, I acknowledge that gaining entry into the industry may be somewhat more accessible for individuals like us. However, it's important to understand that success isn't handed to us effortlessly. I've personally witnessed the challenges faced by outsiders trying to break into the film industry. It's not just about securing roles; even engaging with directors can be a daunting task.'

Regarding Emraan's recent projects, he garnered acclaim for his portrayal in Salman Khan's 'Tiger 3', where he embodied a villainous character much to the audience's appreciation. Now, audiences eagerly await his appearance in the upcoming web series 'Shoot Time'. The recently unveiled trailer has received a positive reception from viewers.
