Gaslight Movie Review: Netizens Divided Over Sara Ali Khan's Thriller

According to Netizens, Gaslight, directed by Pavan Kirpalani and starring Sara Ali Khan, follows a well-trodden path of whodunit movies. The film premiered on Disney Hotstar on March 31, and social media is awash with reactions to the murder mystery. While some users find the film 'boring and slow', criticizing Sara Ali Khan's portrayal of a wheelchair-bound Meesha, Other's finding her performance a good attempt.

One of the users wrote,

Comatose film of the year. Performances, lethargic. Script, listless. Sara Ali Khan is forever in a dark corner of haveli. Nothing moves, not even one muscle on Chitrangada’s face. Direction, lackadaisical. Dialogues, limp. Is #Gaslight ko green light kisne kiya? #Gaslightreview

Another user wrote, "I really like whodunnit thrillers but they need to be intelligent & interesting. #Gaslight is such a disappointment. More so because watching such good actors like Vikrant Massey, Chitrangada Singh and Sara Ali Khan being completely wasted isn't a great feeling. "

Gaslight is a psychological thriller in which Sara Ali Khan plays Meesha, a young woman who returns to her ancestral home in Rajasthan after a long absence. Meesha is alarmed when she discovers that something terrible has happened to her father, but she struggles to convince anyone else of the truth. Chitrangda Singh stars as Rukmini, Sara's stepmother, and Vikrant Massey plays Kapil, her father's right-hand man. Akshay Oberoi, Shishir Sharma, and Rahul Dev also feature in the film.
