Govind reveals he was scared to date Sunita in inital days: here's why

Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja discussed their love and relationship's beginnings in a recent interview. The first time Govinda and Sunita Ahuja met, Sunita was "extremely young and modern," according to Govinda. He confessed that he was afraid of dating her and being accused of being a "child molester" because of her age.

Before they started dating, she claimed it took her more than a year of chasing Govinda. Govinda recounted their initial meeting and that he was hesitant to date her because she was so young (15 at the time).

Because Sunita was so young at the time, Govinda was concerned that he would be labelled a "child molester"; the actor claimed he was around 21 at the time. Govinda was worried about being called a 'child molestor' due to Sunita's age – the actor said he was around 21 at the time. 

"Itni zyada yeh choti thi aur modern thi toh main darr raha tha ki aaj ki tareekh mein iss age mein log pyar karne lageinge toh kahenge child molestor. She was 15, I was 21" said Govinda in an interview.

Govinda also stated that they both were quite young, and he even said to Sunita that, "You are so young, do you even know what you are saying?" but Sunita insisted she was fully aware of everything and told him, "she love him."

On March 11, 1987, Govinda and Sunita exchanged vows. Sunita was just 18 years old when Govinda, then 24, got married.
