Love & War: Sanjay Leela Bhansali shares his excitement on witnessing Alia, Ranbir and Vicky's chemistry on a single screen
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the most glorifying filmmakers in the Indian film industry who is known for his exclusive style of grandeur, epic tales, impeccable costumes, sets, actors, and unwavering cinematography. That sheer magic, Bhansali pours into a movie/creation is what keeps him so distanced from all other Indian directors. After serving his fanatics with his OTT debut, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, the filmmaker is now all set to bring his upcoming Bollywood romantic drama 'Love & War' that will bring together Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in a single screen.
During a recent interview, SLB opened up about the storyline of the upcoming release and how 'Love & War' will transcend through a moving love triangle between the leading characters. While revealing some details about the film, he said it is a different approach to filmmaking in his long span of career, at least a movie that has not yet been made over many years in the industry. The movie promises a standalone creation as it will not be about dances, pillars, architecture, drapes, curtains, and jewelry. The film will rather opt for a modern contemporary form.
according to SLB, he said, "It’s a new language, milieu and ambiance for me," as he truly wants something to inspire him to create something new and flamboyant to present a story of a different era with new characters and fresh situations. Proceeding further, he quipped about working with Alia Bhat, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal and said, "It’s nice to work with this wonderful cast of Ranbir, Vicky, and Alia. It’ll be nice to see how their chemistry works," He continued saying that the film is a 'love triangular bond' which is something he hasn't seen in Bollywood for a long time.
Previously, a source has revealed how badly SLB's urge to move forward with a unique storyline in his legacy of filmmaking. "Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been very keen to take a step back from the period dramas with an intense tone. He has been looking to make a love story, and this subject has been at the back of his mind for a while now. SLB feels this is the best time to make a love story and is very excited to tap this genre," the source revealed.
Interestingly, Love & War will bring together Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali after two years of Gangubai Kathiawadi and Ranbir Kapoor after more than 15 years, as they both have earlier collaborated in Saawariyan. Meanwhile, the film will mark Vicky Kaushal's first time collaborating with the director.
