Munjya Twitter Review: Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh Horror-Comedy Leave A Remarkable Impression

Munjya, starring Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh, has finally hit the theatres. This horror-comedy tells the story of an alien-like creature named Munjya, who causes chaos in a couple's life.

Munjya Movie Review

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya is the fourth film in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Inspired by Indian folklore, the movie follows the legend of Munjya, a tale from Maharashtra’s Konkan region. According to the story, Munjya is a boy who becomes a demon after dying shortly after his thread ceremony. While the villagers avoid the grove where his spirit lingers, Munjya waits for a chance to fulfil his dream of marriage.

About Munjya Movie

In the film, Bittu (Abhay Verma) is the easily scared protagonist from Munjya’s village. He finds himself in a one-sided relationship with his college friend Bela (Sharvari Wagh). Bittu, under Munjya's influence, teams up with his friend Diljit (Taran Singh) and the psychic Karim Elvis (S Sathyaraj) to control the spirit. He also receives advice from his beloved grandmother (Suhas Joshi).

Though the movie starts strong, some parts meander. Diljit, the hero’s Sardar best friend, adds comic relief but sometimes feels out of place. Despite this, the film has been well-received.

On social media, one user on X praised the film, saying, “#munjya is what we were dying for since a really long time. A good horror comedy. I had a blast watching this one. The cast, the story, the VFX all works out really well. Don't miss out this one.”

Actress Kriti Sanon shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a poster of Munjya. She wrote, “Absolutely LOVED the film! Gripping, hilarious and so well made!! VFX on point and the climax is OUTSTANDING!! Amazing performances by the entire cast and the MUNKYA is creepy and funny at the same time! GO WATCH IT GUYS!”

Sharvari’s rumoured boyfriend, actor Sunny Kaushal, also shared a poster of the film and commented, “What a fantastic film! Enjoyed everything about this one. The folklore, the monster, the characters, the visuals, the music.. Another feather in @maddockfilms hat of horror comedy universe..@aditya_a_sarpotdar is a visionary. Sir, it’s your magic through and through.” He praised the actors, saying, “@verma.abhay you are endearing and perfect as Bittu @monasingh ma’am you are a delight to watch. Aap jaisi koi nahi.”

Another viewer highlighted Taran Singh's contribution, saying, “Taran Singh adds to the humour and leaves his mark for sure. The entire ensemble including Mona Singh is literally at its best. It is the acting, the expressions & the dialogue delivery of the entire cast that makes the film really entertaining.”

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya is now showing in theatres, bringing a mix of horror and comedy to audiences everywhere.
