Pradeep Sarkar's last rites: From Vidya Balan to Deepika Padukone, celebs pay tribute to 'Parineeta' director
Pradeep Sarkar's last rites: Pradeep Sarkar, an Indian director, died on Friday. He hasn't been feeling well for a few days, however, last night he was admitted to the hospital. The filmmaker passed away at 3.30 am on Friday, according to Neetu Chandra, who confirmed the same.
Sarkar's burial was attended by many Bollywood stars. The Parineeta star Vidya Balan traveled with her husband Siddarth Roy Kapur. There was also Rani Mukerji, who co-starred with the director in Mardaani.
Many from the Hindi cinema industry, including Deepika Padukone, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Rhea Chakravarty, and Dia Mirza, traveled to Santacruz to pay their respects to Sarkar.
With 'Parineeta', Sarkar made his feature film debut. His other films under his direction include 'Helicopter Eela' (2007), 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag' (2010), and 'Lafangey Parindey' (2018).
On social media, many people in the film industry expressed their sympathy.
Before he became a director, Sarkar began his career in the advertising industry. A talented writer who has created advertising for brands like Cadburys (the one with the tagline, "Pappu paas ho gaya"), Coke (in which Aamir Khan portrays a Bengali), and Horlicks.
