Announcing the re-release on social media platform X, director Farhan Akhtar shared his excitement, "Come, relive the journey of a film that ignited countless dreams and inspired generations. Celebrating 20 years of Lakshya, back in cinemas on 21st June."
'Lakshya' is a captivating Indian romantic war drama that follows the life of Karan Shergill, portrayed by Hrithik Roshan. Initially aimless and lacking direction, Karan's life takes a significant turn when he is inspired by his girlfriend, Romila Dutta (played by Preity Zinta), a journalist. This newfound motivation leads Karan to join the Indian Army, where he transforms into a focused and disciplined officer cadet, ultimately emerging as a heroic figure during the Kargil War.
Directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Farhan along with Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment, 'Lakshya' boasts a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Preity Zinta, and the late Om Puri in pivotal roles.
