Shah Rukh Khan Receives Threats: Maharashtra Government Tightens Y+ Security
The Maharashtra government has taken steps to enhance the security of Bollywood superstar SRK aka Shah Rukh Khan. This move comes after SRK reported receiving death threats. According to the Maharashtra police, SRK filed a written complaint with the state government, claiming that he had been receiving threatening phone calls following the release of his movies 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'.
Previously, SRK had security provided by two police constables, along with his personal security guard. However, in response to his concerns, the security level has been increased to the Y category based on the recommendations of the High Power Committee. This means that Shah Rukh Khan will now be accompanied by a team of six trained commandos from the state's VIP security unit, who will be with him at all times.
In addition to SRK's personal security, his residence will also be guarded around the clock by four Mumbai Police personnel armed with weapons.
Talking about the success of his recent films, 'Jawan' has been a box office hit, captivating audiences with its compelling storyline and outstanding performances. It has rewritten records and set new standards in terms of box office success. With 'Jawan,' Shah Rukh Khan has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first actor to have two films each grossing over Rs 1000 crore in a single year.
The star-studded cast of 'Jawan' includes Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya. Notably, this film marks Atlee's debut as a Bollywood director after establishing himself as a successful filmmaker in the South.
Released on September 7, 'Jawan' marked the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee. The film received an overwhelming response from the audience and is now ranked as the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
