Today marks the third year death anniversary of the iconic and mesmerising Sidharth Shukla. His sudden demise sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and his legion of fans. The industry lost its shining star to cardiac arrest on 2 September 2021. Since then, the lives of his loved ones have felt as though a storm came and washed away everything. The media coverage of his death was extensive, reflecting his significant impact on the industry and the public.

Early Life of the Star

He was born on December 12, 1980, in Mumbai, India. He is an Indian TV actor and model known for his work in TV and films and gained immense popularity through his roles in shows like “Balika Vadhu” and  “Bigg Boss 13”. Before entering the entertainment industry, Shukla worked as an interior designer.

He made his acting debut in the television show “Babul Ka Aangan Chhote Na” in 2008 as Shubh Ranawat, but gained widespread recognition with his role as Shivraj Shekhar in the popular show “Balika Vadhu.” His portrayal of Shivraj earned him recognition and established him as a prominent actor in Indian television.

But his entry into reality television came with “Bigg Boss 13”, was the one where his charisma, leadership qualities, and strategic gameplay made him a fan favourite. His victory and the playful, affectionate bond he shared with Shehnaaz Gill, on the show significantly boosted his popularity. While being in the house, the show gained massive popularity and the chemistry between them led to the trending hashtag #SidNaaz which has been trending ever since.

Relationship with Shehnaaz Gill 

Sidharth Shukla's relationship with Shehnaaz Gill, a fellow contestant from “Bigg Boss 13”, became one of the most talked-about aspects of the show. In an interview with ABP News, Rahul Mahajan shared that Shehnaaz Gill was completely heart-broken and shouted ‘mummy ji, mera bachcha’ and even rubbed his feet, not realising that he had passed. Her reaction further reflected deep shock and denial.

Following Sidharth’s death, Shehnaaz had released a music video “Tu Yaheen Hai” as a mark of tribute. While many fans, who loved Sidharth and Shehnaaz’s bond, loved the gesture, but on the contrary some criticised it as a form of self-promotion. Answering to the backlash, she stated that negative trollings do not bother her, as Sidharth’s demise had been the greatest tragedy in her life. She claimed that it had made her stronger and prepared her to face challenges.

Sidharth Shukla had not only achieved the title of Bigg Boss 13 winner but had had an overall incredible career throughout. His work as a TV show host was widely appreciated after the Hindi crime series Savdhaan India and the famous talent show India’s Got Talent. Here are a few of his awards you were unaware about:

• In 2004, Shukla was runner-up in the “Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest.” 

• He also won the ‘World’s Best Model’ title in December 2005 beating 40 participants from across Asia, Europe and Latin America. After winning the title, he bagged endorsements for Bajaj Avenger, ICICI and Digjam.
