Directed by Aleya Sen and produced by Chrome Pictures, the film revolves around the journey of a single mother named Ana, portrayed by Genelia D Souza. Ana's world takes a sudden turn when her curious son demands a father, but only for a trial period of 30 days!
The innocent yet compelling request sets the stage for the arrival of Prajapati Dwivedi, affectionately known as PD and played by Manav Kaul. PD hails from Ujjain and is a disciplined individual who contradicts the expectations of both the mother and son. As the story unfolds, audiences are taken on an endearing journey of love and friendship. The characters navigate the challenges that arise from an unconventional family dynamic, personality clashes, and unexpected bonds that blossom along the way.
Expressing her excitement about the film, Genelia D Souza shares, 'At this stage in my career, I prioritize quality over quantity when choosing a film. 'Trial Period,' offered to me by director Aleya Sen and Chrome Pictures, explores the various relationships a woman experiences during the phase of motherhood.
Manav Kaul, who plays the character of PD, also shares his thoughts on the film. "'Trial Period' is a truly special project! It is heartwarming in its treatment and takes audiences on an emotional rollercoaster.
Apart from Genelia D Souza and Manav Kaul, 'Trial Period' also features Shakti Kapoor, Sheeba Chadda, Gajraj Rao, and Zidane Braz in prominent roles. The film is set to release on Jio Cinema on July 21.
