Vicky Kaushal Chooses 'Chhava' Over Rohit Shetty's 'Singham Again' For This Reason
The resounding success of the blockbuster "Jara Hatake Jara Bachake" has left movie enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the next collaboration of the talented actor Vicky Kaushal and the visionary director Laxman Utekar. Their creative synergy has once again caught the spotlight, with their upcoming project "Chhava" generating considerable buzz in the film industry.
According to reports circulating in Bollywood circles, Vicky Kaushal faced a challenging scheduling conflict between "Chhava" and another high-profile project, Rohit Shetty's "Singham Again." However, it appears that the actor has decided to prioritize "Chhava," although no official confirmation has been released yet.
Vicky Kaushal's excitement and dedication to "Chhava" have been palpable. A close source from Bollywood Hungama revealed that the actor is thrilled about the prospect of filming "Chhava" and has given it precedence over other commitments, despite the clash in shooting schedules.
"Chhava," spearheaded by the talented director Laxman Utekar, promises to take audiences on an enthralling journey into the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who played a pivotal role in establishing the illustrious Maratha Empire. On the other hand, Rohit Shetty has already left an indelible mark with his successful cop universe, featuring iconic characters like Bajirao Singham portrayed by Ajay Devgn in "Simmba" and "Sooryavanshi," which showcased Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar. Rohit had ambitious plans for "Singham 3," aiming to bring together these stellar actors for a grand climax scene. However, Vicky Kaushal's casting became entangled due to this specific sequence, as per the report.
Rohit Shetty's vision was to film with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Vicky Kaushal, all of whom had allocated their schedules for the project in October. Nonetheless, Vicky's commitments to "Chhava" during that period posed a challenge in finding a common date for all the actors to collaborate on "Singham Again." Despite the current setback, industry insiders have not ruled out the possibility of these talented artists joining forces in the future.
In April, reports emerged suggesting that Maddock Films, owned by Dinesh Vijan, is gearing up to produce its first historical period drama film, with Laxman Utekar at the directorial helm. The filmmaker has previously showcased his prowess with hits like "Jara Hatake Jara Bachake" and "Luka Chuppi."
Titled "Chhava," the film derives its name from the term used to describe Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, "offspring of a lion," in Maharashtra. "Chhava" will delve into the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the elder son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and Vicky Kaushal has been handpicked to portray this illustrious character. As per media reports, the film's production is already well underway, promising an awe-inspiring cinematic experience for audiences.
As fans eagerly anticipate "Chhava," the reunion of Vicky Kaushal and Laxman Utekar holds the promise of an epic tale that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the canvas of Indian cinema. With the exceptional talents of these artists coming together, "Chhava" is poised to become a masterpiece, immersing viewers in the rich history and bravery of Sambhaji Maharaj and his invaluable contribution to the legacy of the Maratha Empire.
