Bollywood's Favourite 'Shummy Aunty' Passes Away Of Prolonged Illness

Bollywood’s ‘Shummy Aunty’, the veteran actress who acted in various Hindi films like Jab Jab Phool Khile, Preet Na Jane Reet, Aamne - Saamne, Upkar, Ittefaq and many others breathed her last at the age of 89. Shummy, whose real name was Nargis Rabadi, had been suffering from a prolonged illness. Famous for comic timings, Shummy was greatly admired for her comic characters in TV shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Shriman Shrimati.

Amitabh Bachchan was one of the first few to expresses his condolences on Twitter. Amitabh Bachchan put up a collage of three photographs that showcase Shummy Ji’s early initial days in Bollywood. “Shammi Aunty .. prolific actress, years of contribution to the Industry, dear family friend .. passes away ..!! A long suffered illness, age ..Sad .. slowly slowly they all go away..”, Amitabh Bachchan wrote in his tweet.
